Service Description

Wing Foiling is when the Surfer stands on a Foil Board and holds an inflatable sail (aka the 'Wing'). The Wing catches the wind, making the board move. A combination of speed and Surf technique causes the board to raise out of the water, balancing on its attached Foil system. While riding on Foil, the Surfer continues to use the handheld Wing to control speed, steer upwind, downwind and conduct gybe and tack turns; the Surfer can also dig into the board's rails using their body weight to carve along the surface of the water. If you already have Wing-Sail Handling and Wing Foil experience**, a Begin to Intermediate Wing Foil Lesson is for you! When Booking Online, please include notes as to the Wing Foil Gear you last rode, as well as your goals for the Lesson! What to expect during a Begin to Intermediate Wing Foil lesson: Some land-based instruction which will review the wind direction, Wing-Sail handling, board and foil balancing through feet placement, and basic water safety. The remainder of the Lesson is spent on the water using a Wing Foil Board -- the Lesson will be adjusted to the Surf Student's skills, and will focus on advancing Wing-Sail Handling, Foil riding, gybe and tack turns, and flagging the Wing Sail to ride the foil on the ocean swell. Wing Foiling is made easy with instruction, no matter your age or skill level, come join the fun :) **If it is apparent that you have no basic knowledge of how to handle a Wing-Sail at the time of your booked Begin to Intermediate Wing Foil Lesson, your Instructor may convert your lesson to a Beginner Wing Foil lesson; no refund will be provided.** NOTE:  There will be no Online Booking for Wing Foil Lessons held in July - mid-August.  The Gulf Coast heats up too much during this time period, and the wind predictably shuts down during these months.  We like to have at least 10-18 mph for a Wing Foil Lesson. However, as an FYI, when the wind is no good, we encourage everyone to Book a Foil Drive Assist Foil Lesson and/or Demo Session. A Foil Drive Assist fits onto the same Foil of a Wing Foil Mast/Board, allowing us to train on No-Wind days, getting used to the Foil and Board for the wind does pick up. The Foil Drive Assist powers the Foil Board with a small battery, giving the effect of what the wind would do -- but without the wind.
